"Leaving the green before all have finished"

Between September and October,
Still wet from the last rains,
Soils with the smells of forgotten perfumes,
Still remain, these last greens and yellows,
As if clinging to the ultimate hope of eternity.

Between September and October,
Far from the blurred gaze of an old movie,
The great heat now over,
That the songs of the whitenings will appear,
Like the life that comes, that passes and falls asleep.

Between September and October,
Memories accumulated at the risk of time,
Mixture of greens, yellows, whites,
The winds have shaped, sculpted and slowly worn away,
Like the Novembers and Decembers to replace them.
